1965On November 21, 2011, a sister agreement was signed with Ichikawa RC at the Tangli Town, Puli RC, Nantou County, Taiwan, Republic of China.
1965On 14 October, Rotary International's national convention was held to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Rotary International Japan divided into east and west.
The East Japan was held at the National Stadium in Yoyogi, Tokyo. The East Japan Union District Tournament consisted of 402 clubs in 6 districts (350, 352, 353, 355, 358, and 359) from Hokkaido to Shizuoka, and our Ichikawa Club belonged to District 358 at the time. The total number of registered members of the conference was 8,283, with 50 participants from Taiwan, and two members of Puli RC also participated as members of this group.
Around this time, in Taiwan, Taipei Northwest RC signed a sister agreement with Chigasaki RC of Japan as the first club, and interest in which club the second club would be was growing.
1964Founded on October 19, 2019, the young Puli RC, now in its first year, had high hopes for a sister agreement with Japan RC, and taking into account the geographical conditions of Puli and the holding of regular meetings on Thursdays, the club in the suburbs of Tokyo was ambitiously trying to make contact with the clubs in Funabashi and Ichikawa near Tokyo as candidate clubs.
On the second day of the conference, during the second plenary session held at 2:00 p.m., Mr. Huang Jianling and Mr. Yang Shi-ting, who had studied abroad at Meiji University in Puli RC with flushed faces, finally found the Ichikawa RC group that was participating in the meeting in the large hall and called out to them with fluent Japanese, "Are you from the Ichikawa Club?"
Indeed, these words marked the beginning of the Jinlan Yong League.
Immediately, the exchange of opinions with each other progressed at this venue, and a member of Ichikawa RC Kannagi, who was holding a regular meeting on the following Thursday, said, "If you want to meet tomorrow, I will not be able to attend.?Both of them readily agreed, and here was the first visit of Ichikawa RC by two members of the Puli RC representatives.

1965October 15 - (Thursday)Mr. Huang and Mr. Yang visited the Ichikawa RC Convention, which was held on the 3rd floor of the former Ichikawa Chamber of Commerce and Industry at that time, received a warm welcome from the members, and expressed their enthusiasm and expectation for the realization of the Ichikawa RC that they hoped to conclude a sister agreement with Ichikawa RC at the regular meeting.
The members present of Ichikawa RC accepted this request with favor and friendship and expressed heartwarming support, and then, at the welcoming banquet held that night, the chest collar was more open, and the agreement made great strides.
Five weeks later, on November 21, the sisterhood ceremony to be held at Puli RC was attended by four members representing Ichikawa RC: Chairman Kozo Ozawa, Secretary Katsue Takagi, Member Yoshio Kannagi, and member Hironaga Hirata.
11On the 21st of the month, just after 6 o'clock, the group arrived at Taichung Station while being greeted by a large number of Puli RC members.
3We got in a truck and set off for Puli Town, a city of mountain purple water and light located in the center of Taiwan, close to the famous Sun Moon Drift more than 50 kilometers to the east. We arrived at Puli Town in just over an hour, but before we could undress ourselves, we rushed to the venue where all 30 members of the Capture RC were waiting for us at 8 o'clock.
The commemorative event of the sisterhood was held in a grand manner in a welcoming venue full of joy and smiles. The presidents of the Ozawa and Hayashi clubs did not dare to prepare a written agreement, but shook hands firmly, and the friendship between the two clubs began here, based on the high level of mutual trust unique to Rotary, which is a "no-note agreement."
After fulfilling their great duties, the group spent an exhilarating night in the bank where they were housed, and the next day they returned home with the joy of achieving friendship and goodwill.

Five years later, Puli RC invited us to hold a celebration event to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the sisters' agreement, and Ichikawa RC decided to dispatch a second delegation consisting of four representatives, Mr. Motokazu Muraoka, Vice Chairman of the Delegation, Mr. Shoji Hajima, Chairman of the International Service Committee, and Mr. Toshio Kato, Fellowship Committee Member.
On this occasion, member Masao Yoshioka personally donated 40 blankets to support the service activities of Puli RC in the spirit of Rotary, and received great gratitude.
Since then, Yoshioka members have visited Puli RC frequently, sometimes with his wife and his wife, regardless of whether they are in public or private, and during that time, they have made 19 official visits, each time donating a large amount of money and goods.
In addition, one of the most noteworthy of Yoshioka members' visits is that in 1972, when the Tanaka Cabinet of the Japan government tried to normalize diplomatic relations with the Beijing government, signed a sign to restore diplomatic relations between Japan and China, and severed diplomatic relations with the Taiwanese government under the Four Principles of Zhou, the Yoshioka members were angry at the government's anomalies, and "Rotary will not betray them," and immediately visited Puli accompanied by new member Kazunori Kato, who had just joined the Society.
The planes bound for Taipei at this time were still Douglas DC-8s, and it is said that there were only seven passengers, reflecting the situation at the time.
At Puli RC, all the members and their wives greeted the Yoshioka members with tears of joy, and the Yoshioka members also tearfully apologized for the "national change".

In addition, the Ichikawa and Puli Clubs held many biennial reciprocal visits by officers and members, as well as reciprocal visits by children and youth, and the bonds of friendship and goodwill became stronger.
